It's the last day of the month! :D
Feels like this year is gonna pass quickly too.

I think I'm a rather bad host.
Today when Ariela called to tell me they were waiting for me at the gate, I was still sleeping.
Then I was super panicky cause my eyes were still not fully opened and I hadn't brushed my teeth or washed my face.

Anyway, they learnt how to play mahjong (:
Heh I was on a winning streak today.
I think I won more than 12 times, and there was once where I won 5 times in a row, until I gave my lucky seat up to Ariela (who proceeded to lose and spoil my legacy).

They just left, so now I'm waiting for my cousins to arrive.
Latte barked at Joan when she was leaving, haha!
She's been barking more and more recently o.O
Last time she wouldn't even go near strangers.

Jaclyn, next time we must teach you!

Fridays suck.
The school day, I mean.
Once it's night, everything's fine.

Today he obviously heard the bell, but he still didn't let us go.
And it wasn't even like he was teaching anything at the time.
We were having a discussion, hello.
That just gives me another reason to get mad.

Eh Physics test today was a killer.
I studied, but obviously it wasn't enough ):

And tons of Chinese homework again, as usual.

Practically this whole post will be about CNY, cause it was a blast, like it is every year.
Poor Joan. I always feel sad for my friends when their holidays turn out just average, cause I always look forward to holidays with my family.

Kayyyyyy.

Saturday:
Went to my cousin's cafe for dinner with my family, in Bugis.
It's new, just opened recently early this year I think.
Anyway, pretty good food, though there's not much on the menu yet.
Then went over to Shirleen's house to help out with the reunion dinner cooking.
She has a video as proof of us working, okay.
It's quite funny actually, six of us squeezed into a tiny kitchen, sitting on the floor cause her house isn't that big.
We looked like illegal workers.
I did the pumpkins, got rid of the seeds, and sliced off the skin.
Sounds easy, but it isn't.

Then Shirleen and I went back to Joanna Jiejie's house to sleep over, since the next day we had reunion anyway.
(I'm so jealous. They all stay so close together in Queenstown, while I'm stuck in lonely Bukit Timah. Unfair!)
My other cousin came back and he set up Guitar Hero for us to play <3
Joanna Jiejie and I are awful on drums, so we each take a stick to play.
... And we still suck.
Guitar is waaaaaaaay easier, I can at least hit a 100% on Easy, so I play on Medium.
Joshua Korkor sings really well, but then since he's the one who owns the set, he can play the drums and guitar too.
But we made him our singer :D

Sunday:
Skipped church cause we woke up too late o.O
Misha came over and Joanna Jiejie repainted her toenails, then she did mine and Shirleen's too.
I am generally not a nail polish girl, but my cousin paints nails really well.
Everyone tells her she should just open her own shop, but she says she doesn't want to smell people's feet.
Anyway, my toes have never been prettier.

Around 6 we prepare to leave, and we used to wear nice for reunion dinner, but these few years we've learnt our lesson.
So I just borrowed a shirt and wore it with my fbts, and done! We're ready.
Reunion was food, bridge, food, bridge, did we play mahjong? and more bridge.
Jaclyn would be proud of me; I tried eating with chili.
Because I can't be a true Toh if I can't eat chili.
Almost everyone in my family lurrrrves chili.
I just ended three sentences with the word chili.
And another. Heh.
Left around 12.30, cause we helped clean up my uncle's house.

Monday:
I didn't wear new clothes this year ):
Have to go shopping early next time.
Uncle's house again, FOOD, mahjong, bridge.
Misha wore a kimono <33
Adorable.
Hah, at about 11.30pm a few of just decided to leave and go to my cousin's house again to play Guitar Hero.
So Shirleen's mom fetched us there, but the car was too small to hold all of us, so Kong Chian Korkor cycled down.
(Yeah, they all live so close. Even if we walked we'd take only 20 minutes at the most.)
Heh, this time I tried drums again, and I tried medium o.O
But of course I suck, so everytime there's a fast beat, I'd be like,
"Joshua Korkor! Help!"
And then he'd come and take over and pass the drumsticks back to me when it's slow again.

Left around 2.30am, Kong Chian Korkor drove us home.
Dropped us Shirleen, then my brother and I.
It is very strange to be walking around at 2.45 in the morning.
My brother went straight to sleep, but I have to shower before I allow myself to lie on my bed.
So on the first day of CNY, I go to sleep only at 5am.

Tuesday:
Slept most of the day away, although there were people who came to our house.
Kept waking up and going back to sleep cause people were so noisy.
Woke up for lunch, then went back to sleep again.
My brother had to book in again, so my parents woke me up around 5, and we went to Tampines to eat.
Ajisen Ramen :D


And that concludes my CNY.
Usually my relatives come over to my house on the second day of CNY, but this year we changed it to this coming Saturday cause many people have to go to school and work the next day.
Clique is probably coming over too, gonna teach them how to play mahjong :D
Well hopefully they can make it.

I have a spiltting headache, from this morning's PE I think.
I can't believe I was still able to type this whole post.
Gonna sleep after this, even though I haven't finished Chinese or English or Amaths homework yet.
Heck, shall just do it tomorrow in school.

Today = awesomeness

School was okay, the performances just normal like usual.
The school invited the dance troop that came last year and possibly also the year before, I can't remember.
Haha, the guy introduced himself by saying, "Hi, I'm Alvin.."
And Jaclyn and I immediately chipped in, "And the chipmunks!"

But I don't feel obliged to laugh at his "jokes" (which aren't exactly funny), just because he says he was from St Andrews and therefore has a bond with us.

I thought our class would win the most creative decoration award though ):

I am back, after three days.
Yesterday doesn't count because I was doing work.
Feels like forever, because this week's been a drag.
It's just homework after homework after homework.
No tests yet, thank goodness.

I am starting to work, yes.

Practicals are horrible.
Both Chemistry and Physics.
You just read the instructions but have no idea how to start.
I'm not ready for SPA. I'll never be ready D:

And I hate the lab goggles.

The beginning of this week seems so long ago.
Remember Mrs Tan telling us that we won't be dismissed early?
That was only three days ago.

I haven't even thought about what I'm going to wear for CNY.

I am massively annoyed.
Am busting my ass trying to do the lit presentation script, and I forgot to bring my book home.
Grr, dang it.

I have been studious lately, so more tomorrow when I can finally take a break.
Just need to survive till after drills.

So my brother turned 19 yesterday, but I didn't get to talk to him.
Not sure if he called back.
Maybe I was in the shower or something :/

I can't believe I wasted my whole weekend watching Gossip Girl.
I didn't touch any homework, or even my schoolbag for that matter.
And here I thought this year I was gonna change.

Sometimes I feel like whether my day is going well or not, depends on how many people are on the bus that I'm in.
The less people there are, the less noisy it is, the happier I am.
I think inside, I'm really an old soul.
When I alighted today and looked back, guess what?
There was only one guy left on the lonely, lonely 970.

Awesome.

Only the third week of school, and already I've learnt to dread Mondays and Fridays.
Gah, three periods.
Wednesday shall be my favourite day.

We had two lessons today and then free time for the rest of the day.
Morning, Physics practical (which I know I screwed up)
Next, Lit, and she left us alone to do some mind map.
Social Studies, recess, then English, so we had three hours of bridge-playing time.

Gotta get that SS textbook soon.

Sec Four year should be about worrying about your studies, not other stuff.

But it'll be months.

So.. There's a whole chunk of information on ultra-violet rays.

We are missing quite a bit of lessons tomorrow, since two of our teachers are going to be away on course.
Actually when I think about it, they might be going to the same one.
NE and all.

Yay work hard this year.

Where's my brother when he's supposed to call?
Have to tell him that his friend isn't her son.
Thank goodness. I don't think I would be able to take the creepiness.
Maybe he smiles often too.

It breaks my heart that it has to be this way.

Why isn't the school flooded with our tears already?
Last week so many people cried at the Adam Khoo thing, on Monday because it was O level result day, and yesterday I cried because the day just sucked.

I feel somewhat guilty about the whole getting scolded about the commanding thing, because I was sort of the one who told Bokteng I wanted to quit because of drills :/

How can someone talk when they're crying?

It was the whole terrible-ness of the day.
We had that horrible feeling, the one when you just feel so bad and know that something's wrong.
The last time I cried in school was in June last year, third day of Enrichment Camp.

Not like today was much better.
But Geog was incredible, really.
She finished a chapter in one lesson.
And she just captures your attention.
She's like, the female version of Mr Anthony.
Why can't we have him too?

Yeah I want it to end too.

12 January 2009, Monday

First day of proper lessons, not too bad I must say.
But man, is English ever gonna be a drag this year.

O level results out today, so we are herded into the hall to watch our seniors get back their results.
Higher Mother Tongue girls get back their results as well.
I think it's so cruel if they are forced to drop HMT just because they didn't get an A.
Three years of study down the drain.
Bokteng, our other resident smarty pants other than Ariela, got A1 with distinction for Chinese, of course. What else?
We all felt like her proud family.
And she dared to stroll into the hall while we were all waiting anxiously and looking around for her o.O
Heh :D

It would be so sad to be the only one among your friends to not do well.
I wonder if I'll cry if I don't do well this/next year.
Ahhh, nooooo. Hopefully not.
Must be happy for friends still.

Today was a perfect day, almost. Mostly perfect.
Normally perfect, perfectly normal.
Normal is good.

Went to get my phone fixed finally.
I can get it back on Tuesday, so now I'm using my brother's phone.
I don't like it.

Since we were at Wisma, my mom and I went to Charles and Keith.
I love Charles and Keith, but I realised that I own nothing from there at all.
My shoes are mostly from DMK.
Heh. My mom bought three pairs and I bought one, cause she wanted to get the Charles and Keith card.
I wish I had feet one size smaller.
Usually shoes on display are size 36. It's so easy for my mom to try stuff on.

I think the Japanese are amazing.
Omu rice :D Had that for dinner.
Doesn't that just sound so cute?

I'm not even worried about school starting proper tomorrow, cause I've done most of the important homework.
Chinese not yet finished, but I'll get it done somehow.
Haven't done the euthanasia essay, but many people haven't done it as well.

I think I might try to quit the Mr Lee thing.
I have an excuse anyway.

We have survived the first day of "camp".
It's 11pm. Only 46 more hours to go. Whoop Dee Doo.

My brother is going off tomorrow.
It's unreal. I wish I could pon school to go see him off, because I guess in spite of what I say, I think I will miss him anyway.
I think it's sad to have to spend your birthday in camp, but that's how many people've had it.
At least he gets to come out for Chinese New Year.
Haha, after shaving his head...

When I reach home, my cousin and Misha are at my house.
They were out with my parents for dinner.
I find her bouncing about on my bed.
On. My. Bed.
I am very anal about stuff like that.
I don't allow anyone to go up on my bed at all.
But I just didn't have the heart to tell her to come down.
She's about the only kid that I actually like.
Besides, she just showered so she's clean.. I hope.
She squished the face of the polar bear Jaclyn gave me.

My brother got back his IB results today.
39 points. I had no idea what that means when I heard it.
I was suppose it's quite good, though.
A perfect score's 45.

For those who don't understand, let me explain.
The highest you can get for a subject is 7 points.
Multiply that by 6 (subjects), and you get 42 points.
The 3 extra points are bonus or something, which is where the TOK and EE stuff comes in.
(For the record, I have no idea what those stand for.)

To celebrate, we go Sakae Sushi.
And I only know about this around 5.30, when I just reached Coro.

Bah. I still had fries and milo anyway.

I don't know who this Adam Khoo guy is, but I don't like him already.
What gives him the right to make our lives miserable, huh?
And we don't get any say in this.
No, they just plonk this study thing on us and expect us to pay up.

I wouldn't mind being a Media girl, actually.
It's quite interesting to set up and control the sound system and lightings.

I think it's ridiculous that we're having this English course, really.
We're paying extra for people to teach us stuff that our teachers can teach, and frankly we've already learnt it before.
How hard can it be, right?

Tomorrow we have yet another day of it, and it's Composition this time.
We were given homework, but I think most of us just left the booklets in school.
Still, I don't think it was that bad.
Spending time in the Chapel is good, since there are chairs and aircon.
Plus, the trainee isn't really those horrifying ones.
And four people (which is what is left of our clique) is just nice.
Bokteng + Zeng Xi + Jaclyn + Me
It's easy to play Hangman while the guy's talking.
Heh :D

After school ends, Jaclyn and I decide that we're craving Subway cookies.
Haha Joan! Cause of your cookie last week :D
We go to West Mall and met Wang Yee at the bus stop, so she came along with us.
But Subway was having some problems, so it was sort of closed.
So we went to get Old Chang Kee and waffles instead, heh.
I don't care how weird it sounds, I've decided that I'll have chocolate and cheese next time :D

Lesson of the day: Just offer some KitKat, and everyone wakes up.

CCA fair on the day after school reopens, what is wrong with our school?
It's too early lah.
Anyhow, it's our last year to ever have to do this again.
No more fancy drill to amuse Sec Ones who probably don't even know what we're doing, no more pulling innocent Sec Ones around and forcing them to write their names down (I'm betting half of them won't turn up for the welcome party), and no more having to hear other CCAs scream "JOIN _________! (fill in the blank)" at the top of their lungs.
Thank goodness, no more of that.
Why do girls have to scream so much? Or talk so much?
Can't they just shut up for a moment?

I'm watching The Tobi Show again cause.. I'm waiting for something else to load.

I hate it when people smoke. I hate it even more when they smoke in a no-smoking area.
And I hate it that I don't have the guts to tell these people to snuff it out and stop killing themselves and others.

And.. no sleeping in tomorrow again.

My poor cousin, first day of school on the day she turns 16.

We have officially another week to complete our homework, since lessons only start proper next next week.

Shall not elaborate on that because then I will go on and on and on about how dumb I think it is and how much I hate camps and how I'd even rather just spend the time having normal lessons.

I feel somewhat guilty that my parents have to wake up so early just to fetch me to school, now that my brother isn't going to be around soon.
Should I offer to take the bus to school myself..?
Nahhhhh, I don't feel guilty enough for that.

School was okay.
Surprise surprise, we got almost all the same teachers again.
And why is the word generic suddenly so popular?
Do they even know what it means?
