Alright, I really want to try to do well for Chinese Os, for Miss Koh if not for myself.
She came into class today looking all dishevelled and tired.
Apparently she had stayed up until 3.30 marking all of our papers (and still had not finished).
I think she might be as stressed about our Monday paper as we are.
But really, I think she's a wonderful teacher.
I finally cleared the mess under my table today; practically everything was related to Chinese.
And when we left the classroom at 6 this evening, we were the only class still there.

But we didn't stay as late as the Tamil and Malay students though.
They were dismissed at 8.

Roar, new obsession, because Joan started it.
Heh.

28 May 2009, Thursday

Whoo boy.
I think everyone got a shock today with that PMS-y mood.
Honestly I thought it was a joke, then it sounded so serious.
It would have been a tad funnier if I had brought the book.

Yay for Art Attack!
My quest for today shall be to find out the name of that scary talking bust.
Found a photo of Neil Buchanan, it even has his signature o.O
Can print it out to give Atiqa, heh :D
Hahaha she said she liked his British accent; I just went to youtube to find a clip.
Gosh I miss this show.

Watched half of Jane Eyre today.
I hate watching stuff halfway ):
That happened with The Devil Wears Prada and To Kill A Mockingbird last year too :/
If teachers want to show us stuff, they should just book two days and let us watch it to the end.

Ah, it's called The Head.
Now why didn't we remember that?

Wednesday, May 27, 2009
8:47 PM
27 May 2009, Wednesday

Five more days.
Remember to bring IC!!!
And Chem textbook.

Phototaking ate up about an hour and a half of Chinese intensive, which I was pretty annoyed about.

Eh, I can't find the SportsCentre ad ):

Roar okay, I had a ton of things to say these two days, but now I'm here nothing comes to mind.

Monday, May 25, 2009
5:50 PM
25 May 2009, Monday

I feel slightly guilty using the laptop now when I know I should be finishing up my Chinese homework.
Rah, but I've had enough of Chinese, at least for the moment.
Besides, I didn't even touch the laptop yesterday.
Eh, in a week we'll be taking our Chinese Os.
Ahhhhh and this time it's counted for real!
So no more excuses for us ):

Miss Koh didn't come again today.
Just figures that she'll fall sick right before our major exam.
It's all Murphy I tell you!
I hate having to combine with other classes; there's always not enough seats.
Just like today.

Got back Chinese, SS, Physics, and Geog papers.
Haven't failed anything (yet).
SS in the hall was terrible.
It was so SO stuffy, and because our class was right in the middle of the hall, the wind from the fans doesn't reach us.
I was so jealous of this Sec Five girl sitting at the right side of the hall whose hair was just flapping from the wind :/

Our classrooms are no better.
Ariela, Huilin, Jaclyn, Joan, and I went up to the library before Intensive to get a headstart on our Chinese paper.
Library = aircon + quiet = conducive work environment

Oh our clock fell off and smashed this afternoon.
Gave all of us quite a shock.
Joan who happened to be looking up said she actually saw it tilt forward and fall off.
Most of us just saw this thing travelling downwards at 10ms-2 (assuming no air resistance), and shatter to pieces on the ground.
Our class is forever cursed to not have a clock.

10:29 PM
23 May 2009, Saturday

Eh Huilin I have a present for you on Monday!!! :D
Actually I think you might have seen it already, but I'll just bring it anyway. Heh.

Roar. I found out today that I left two of my Chinese homework questions in school.
The gonghan one and the zuowen one, so now I don't know what the questions are ):
And I don't know what to write for the sihan, think I'll end up doing one of the recession ones.
Ugh. They're trying to kill us with the amount of homework.

Don't think I'll have time to watch Chuck this weekend.
Sorry ):

Neh, Jenson Button is on pole again for tomorrow's race.
The only good thing is, Kimi squeezed himself up there too to P2, so I hope he manages to overtake Button at the start.
He has the KERS, but the Monaco circuit isn't easy to overtake on, so we'll see.
Heh I really can't wait for August.
Cause Gossip Girl season 3 starts, and it's the month for the Singapore GP.
Yay, night race :D

12:21 AM
23 May 2009, Friday

It's over.
Months of waiting, of anticipation... Today was finally the day.
This post will of course be dedicated to what I think of the performance we just saw.

But first off, I have to say that we got lost, and missed about 20 minutes of it.
Practically the whole of Act 1, Scene 1.

Puck was easily one of the prettiest and most memorable character, because they used a girl for the part, and because she was good-looking.
Her acting wasn't bad either, pretty good actually, although I thought she was trying to be too Puck-y and dancing at times.
Loved her eyes and her costume and her hair.
Plus she delivered the line "Lord, what fools these mortals be!" perfectly, I thought.
It's my favourite quote in the play, and it was cute when Oberon chimed in at the end with her (That doesn't really happen in the play though. Only Puck says it.).
I was pleasantly surprised when she appeared; thought she was Titania at first, but the fairy minions were being too disdainful of her for her to be Titania.
The switching of gender thing was quite creative I thought.
The female Peter Quince was pretty good too.

I loved Helena as well.
Other than the fact that she's my favourite character in the play, the actress was awesome as well.
I loved her little expressions and her reactions when Lysander and Demetrius first wake up and fall in love with her.
I know many people don't like her as a character though, because they think she's a weakling and too desperate.
Love her relationship with Hermia, although we missed her soliloquy, which was in scene 1, and they left out the conversation in the woods between Hermia and her, the one about them being like a "double cherry" and "coats in heraldry".
I was really looking forward to that part, because it's one of my favourite scenes in the play.
It just shows their real friendship for each other, and Lysander's professions of love for Hermia just simply pales in comparison.
That pervert -.-

The set was great too.
Loved the moon at the right side of the stage.
I especially liked the mood of the woods, it was very dark, very pretty, very magical.
And the costumes!
Adore Hermia's and Helena's blouse/skirt combo which looked like a dress.
Very long, very flowy, very white, very pretty.
I love the ancient Athenian garments.
Girls should dress like that; in long full skirts and long sleeved tops, with flowers in their hair.

What I didn't like:

The audience.
I HATED the audience.
I feel absolutely sorry for the cast that they have to perform for students who laugh at everything that isn't funny.
Seriously!
Just make some sexual reference, say the word "sex" (and they mean that in the gender way), "breast" (refers to your chest/heart), or "bosom" (ditto), and the audience sniggers like it's so funny.
It's not.
AND they laugh constantly, even at times when it's a rather sad scene.
Like when Helena first chases Demetrius into the woods and he's trying to shake her off while she says the whole "I am your spaniel" part and he gives her disgusted looks, I know it's supposed to be funny, but I wasn't laughing at all.

I didn't like how the the actor who played Demetrius interpreted and portrayed his character too.
I guess that's just based on different people's opinions though.
Of course, the audience loved him and kept laughing when he was leering at Helena's boobs after he fell in love with her again.
(Not funny, by the way. Just crude.)
To me, he just seemed more shallow and fickle than he already is in the play itself.
But to be fair, the actor was pretty good at his portrayal, if you like that sort of thing.

Alright, I have more to say but this has been a long enough post already, and I don't even think that anyone has really bothered to read it.
I haven't even posted about school or how we got lost, but whatever.
Just remembered, there's F1 tomorrow!

Blueberry pie/ Who verify?
We both heard it wrong :D

First day of the super intensive period is over.
Only seven more days to go.
I already cannot wait for this week to be over; imagine what it'll be like next week.
We end at five every single day.

But Chinese isn't that bad, really.
I'm surprised that I think my Chinese has improved after Miss Koh took over our class last year.
She was sick today though, and didn't come ):
We had combined lesson with 4e4 and some Sec Five class.

I worked my ass off on those two letters yesterday.
Didn't even use the laptop even though I really wanted to watch Gossip Girl and Chuck.
Went to Ngee Ann City (again!) with Jaclyn and Joan for lunch.
I forgot to mention on Sunday, they have new doors! :D
It used to be automatic doors, but now there's some thing you have to press before the doors will open.

I could stand there and press those doors forever.

Tomorrow's another long day, and there's _______, which makes it worse.
At least intensive is Chinese, and not that.

Monday, May 18, 2009
6:26 PM
18 May 2009, Monday

Chinese intensive today wasn't that bad, it passed pretty fast actually.
Did the MGS MYE paper, which surprisingly turned out to be a tad easier than our school's paper... Well that's what I think anyway.
She gave us another paper for homework; I had a look, it seems pretty okay as well.

Guess who didn't come today? ):

The sky was so dark when it was going to rain.
We were talking about how we wanted to turn off the lights and stuff, heh.
Went to The Rail Mall with Jaclyn to get Subway, then to her house for Survivor.
No more Survivor for a few months now ):
Why do all the shows end at the same time?
Survivor, TAR, Gossip Girl, Chuck.

Oh, and I cut my hair.

17 May 2009, Sunday

I don't know if I admire, or should be disgusted at my brother.
Yesterday he was going to go to Malaysia with a few of his army buddies.
Then he called and said that they weren't going anymore, cause one of his friends couldn't find his passport.
So my brother ended up staying at one of his friend's house, and he didn't even pack anything to sleepover.
o.O
I bet he didn't brush his teeth.
Or shower. He's always doing stuff like that.

You know how when it's us, if we want to sleepover we'll be planning days before, and pack as much as we can?

Marking Day is tomorrow, and we have to go to school.
):
I will be so glad when our Chinese paper is over.

8:59 PM
16 May 2009, Saturday

Spent the whole day watching shows online.
Then I gave up trying to find Pushing Daisies Season Two, so I caved and decided to watch Chuck, which has been in my laptop forever (okay fine, a few months), and which I always put off watching because I always think I have time for it.
But that happened around... Six?
So I watched two episodes, went to shower, and now I'm back on.

To quote Eric: "Who watches TV on a TV anymore?"
Hah, so true.

I have a new breakfast addiction.
Toasted bread spread with Nutella.
You know how Nutella is already good on its own?
Well, pair it with toasted bread and it's awesome.
Spread it on both sides, and it's just wowwwwwww.
But it can get a little messy, so try to eat it alone when no one's watching.

And poof, off I go.

Friday, May 15, 2009
8:55 PM
15 May 2009, Friday

School in the morning for the NE quiz, then off to Jaclyn's house for the X-men movie marathon.
(Oh yeah, Macs for lunch, and they forgot to special order my burger D:<)
The movies were okay.
But after watching Wolverine yesterday, I kind of expected more.
Cause it's weird that yesterday's show was more high tech even though it's supposed to be older.
And watching movies in the cinema just has that experience lah.
Oh no, now hardcore fans like Joan and Jaclyn will get mad that I like the spinoff better D:

And Rogue reminded me so much of Pushing Daisies.
I feel like watching it now.
Wish I caught it last time on Channel 5 when it aired.

Survivor! :D :D :D
About time they finally made that decision.
He was a complete ass this episode.
I wonder how they'll treat him in Ponderosa though?

14 May 2009, Thursday

Helloooooo. I feel hungry.
Apparently nachos and three tutu kuehs (/kueh tutus) are not enough for lunch.
But too lazy to go and get food now that I'm happy and sitting in front of the laptop.
I feel like eating Post Blueberry Mornings actually.
Yay, shall eat that for breakfast tomorrow <3

I promised myself yesterday when I saw the question that I would blog about it.
So yesterday for Physics Paper 2, I turned over the page, glanced at the first question, and saw my name.
It was a vector question, and I skimmed through it a few times but couldn't understand it, so I felt very annoyed (because I didn't know how to do it and because they used my name) and skipped to the next question.
Which was on um. Dynamics?
But I didn't know how to do that as well, so after I calmed down for a while I went back to the first question.

1. I was annoyed because Rachel had short hair.
2. She was wearing a weird uniform and carrying a pail with a guy name Bruce.
3. They should have just named them Jack & Jill.

At least they made Rachel the same height at Bruce.

Caught Wolverine with Ariela, Jaclyn, and Joan at Orchard.
Met many people, including some sec threes.
Don't they have exams?
D:< (courtesy of Jaclyn. heh.)

There was this weird angmoh guy sitting in front of Ariela in the cinema.
We both thought that he was a woman at first, until the show ended and he got up o.O
Hahaha. It was quite funny.
Plus Ariela and I haven't watched any X-men show before, so we were very confused at many parts.
After it ended we bombarded Jaclyn and Joan with all these questions.

Feeling more excited about the X-men marathon tomorrow :D

Walked around a little in Wisma and helped Jaclyn decide what to buy for her church friend.
I want that Body Shop thing ):
It smelt so good.
I kept sniffing my hand on the journey home, like some weird drug addict. Heh.

No more exams and no more homework, for the next three days at least.
Grey's Anatomy season five has ended, so I can start watching it now :D
Took them long enough to finally get a wedding going.

But first, Gossip Girl.
Last episode is next week.
Chuck/Blair <3

9:36 AM
11 May 2009, Monday

Yesterday was a terrible day.

My dad broke my cup.
It was a Christmas present from Shirleen.

I nearly cried when Massa had to give up his fourth place and become sixth because he had to save fuel.
(And just when he had an awesome start. Third okay!)

A Brawn one-two, with Jenson Button winning, again.
(Poor Rubens Barrichello.)

And hardly any studying done.

Right, typed out like that it seems okay, but trust me, there were more stuff that made my day much, much worse.
On the bright side, I was pleasantly surprised to received Joan's message about how she caught the start of the race yesterday at her grandma's house.
Yay, you promised to watch the Singapore Grand Prix :D
Thankyou thankyou thankyou. That made my day better.
Heh, I will keep that message as evidence :D

And it's today now, so hopefully this week will go better.
It's already looking up, cause TAR was good, and Jaclyn's coming over later to study :D

Saturday, May 09, 2009
10:35 PM
Jenson Button! Again!
What is this world coming to!?
But I'm not giving up on Ferrari.
Even if they're at the bottom, I'll probably still be supporting them.
And if they quit over the budget cap thing, then that's it.
I'll probably quit watching F1 too.

Dang, Joan found some online Guitar Hero thing, which I'll probably get addicted to now.
I will keep playing that song until I ace it :D

3:08 PM
9 May 2009, Saturday

Rah, I was so motivated to study during the past week, but now I just feel so restless about Physics.
The papers coming up next week don't even feel important anymore.
And I keep harping on Physics, but there's also Lit (at least look through AMND and memorise some quotes), Emath (paper 2 was a goner, so have to work extra hard for this one), and Amath (have to revise again).
Sheesh, now four days seems like such a short period of time, and now we're onto our second day.

Still, I don't really want exams to end, cause after that we have those long days of intensive.
I'd much rather take the papers, thanks.

I find it so hilarious that the Survivor crew edits the episodes and makes fun of Coach as well.
Whenever he's on the screen, they play some funny background music.
What did he say yesterday at the beginning?
He doesn't care about the million bucks, he's only concerned about his integrity?
Come on. Then why are you even playing Survivor in the first place?

Ha. And I loved how at the auction when Debbie was bidding for the fries, she wasn't thinking clearly and couldn't add 20 to 40 dollars.
I bet the kids in her school are laughing at her.
Man, and at the immunity challenge, I felt so pissed with myself that the thing I was thinking about was that they didn't use the BODMAS rule.
(It looks weird typed out in caps.)
I gained a newfound respect for Stephen.
He's a smart guy.

Thursday, May 07, 2009
3:50 PM
7 May 2009, Thursday

I am literally giddy with happiness as I type this.
Really, it feels SO GOOD to use the laptop after three days of abstinence.
Ugh I sound like some typical teenager who can't survive without the internet.
But I honestly feel like I've missed out so much.

Haha ok Jaclyn says it's Guess The Sketch time :D

There's only two of us now ):

Five more papers left, as Jaclyn keeps counting down after we end a day.
Or six, if you count the NE thing on Friday.
People are saying that you can't graduate if you don't pass the test o.O
I'm sure it's all just a rumour though.

Life is so different when you're a history student.
Tee hee.

So... Where are we going on Thursday?
Feels weird not to have a plan still.
Heh, usually it'll be our Lit paper on the last day, then we'll head over to Jaclyn's house for movie marathon.

Who knew the Emath paper would be so difficult?
I'm still in shock.
Okay, don't want to think about it.

Hehe [heh! heh! (huilin) :D] I'm going to enjoy myself and waste the rest of today away.
Had a proper lunch finally this week; Joan, Jaclyn and I went to Coro.
Fried rice and fries, but the fries weren't that nice today though.

Good luck for your history paper tomorrow :D

Sunday, May 03, 2009
8:20 PM
3 May 2009, Sunday

Fantastic. Exams in the classrooms.
Audrey's right. If that's the case, then we shouldn't have recess and assembly too.
It's our last year here.
You can't take this away from us ):

I know this has to be done, safety precautions and all, but it doesn't stop me from being annoyed all the same.
We were looking forward to exams in the hall so much.

Oh, my cousins didn't buy the dog.
Some colleague of my cousin's found it on the streets, so my cousin took it in.
They said that if they turned it over to the SPCA, it was mostly likely going to be put to sleep, cause it's old and sick.
It has only about two more years to live.
And it has cataracts, so it can't see.
It's a nice dog.

Saw Joan's parents in church today.
I was going down the stairs after the first service; they were climbing up for the second service.
At first I saw Joan's dad, and I was like, o.O, but he climbed past me before I could take a second look.
So I thought maybe it was just someone who looked like him.
Then I saw Joan's mom, heh so I went to message Joan.

Muffins. Whee.

Saturday, May 02, 2009
7:54 PM
2 May 2009, Saturday

I was so annoyed when I woke up today and discovered that it was already three in the afternoon.
I was planning to get up early and study in the morning.
So all I've done so far is just re-memorised the solubility table, which is beyond easy but which we keep forgetting anyway after a test.
Bet I'll forget it again by Tuesday :/

So I ate lunch at 3.30, then took my books out to the living room in front of the telly to study.
Bad idea.
Project Runway happened to be showing at 4, and of course I can't resist.
It's Season 3 though, so I don't know any of the designers, but I just watch it anyway.
Made me feel like watching ANTM all over again, even though I've stopped for so long.
And honestly, I don't really like Heidi Klum as a host.
I mean, she looks nice and pretty and all that, but I don't like the way she speaks.
Maybe it's because I prefer Tyra's "And one of you will be eliminated", rather than Heidi Klum's "And one of you will be out.".
I don't know, it sounds weird.
Especially the way she says "out".
Okay whatever.

Lol my mom was watching too and she was like, "Hey what's this Project Runaway? Sounds familiar."
Me: It's Runway. Not Runaway.

And around 5plus my cousin calls and decides that she's coming over cause Misha wants to swim.
They bought a new dog.
Name? Mocha. (At least, I think it's spelt that way.)
Heh. I thought I was hearing things at first.
Moka/ Mocha :D
So Latte has a friend now.

Friday, May 01, 2009
3:09 PM
1 May 2009, Friday

Haven't posted for a while, but Joan was saying yesterday that it seems like a long time.
Oh well. I have nothing much to say anyway.

Just watched Survivor ):
Haha there was one unexpected and random name that came up during voting o.O
What was she thinking!?
I'm starting to think that Coach actually has a good shot at winning, but we'll see.
Maybe next week they'll finally get rid of him.

Did a little Chem this morning after I woke up.
The GMS paper is much easier than our school's one.
At least I don't skip question after question.
Still, all of us are screwed to the max.
Exams are next week, and we haven't started studying.
All we keep saying is, "Not counted for Os anyway."
One day we'll wake up on the actual day and realise that we can't say that any longer.

I've forgotten all my Sec 3 work.

Can't wait for the four day break next week.
Friday we don't have any papers (finally!!! usually they're not so nice to Physics/Lit people).
Monday is some holiday, can't remember what it is now offhand.
Oh, Vesak Day? Or something.

Stayed back yesterday to complete our CME comic.
I feel quite proud of it.
You know, I don't think that we should be obliged to continue listening when teachers carry on talking after the bell has rung.
The lesson's over, okay? And we want to go for recess.
